Do We Have The Bug?

I've been saying all winter that we have been so blessed to not get sick. I know everyone has been hit by this bug and Dave finally got hit last week. I've been feeling something coming, and I've been upping the vitamins, emergenC, and even a shot or two of good booze for good measure.  Alas, it got me. I'm to the legal limit on OTC meds and just trying to hold my head up and screw up as little as possible as we are at Day 2 of a 24-day production. Send healing vibes my way, and maybe some good booze. Not much to say this week, except to ask you all to wish me luck and good health.

Placer County Youth in Action Awards

Congratulations Mason! Mason was selected as an honoree of the 2019 Placer County Youth in Action Council. He was honored in the category of Community Service and as you all know, he's been proactive from an early age. They went back to him raising over $26,000 for the Alta Vista School Kitchen Project, the upgrades to the kitchen in addition to the construction of a Culinary Science Lab and the reimplementation fo the school garden. They noted that he won Chopped Junior and donated back a portion of his winnings to the Culinary Sciences Lab to purchase groceries to keep teaching kids to cook. They noted that he started an entrepreneur club in the 8th grade and his middle school, EV Cain, and finally, that he was instrumental in the launching of the Placer High School Snowboard Booster Club selling ads on 2019 calendars and then selling the calendars themselves. I know I am biased, but I think this kid is something pretty special. Love you Mason!

Life's Business As Usual

This week has been relatively uneventful, I don't have much to write about. It's been emotional with Dave retiring and we are working to get through the financial challenges that are temporary, but uncomfortable nonetheless. I'm ramping up to work on movie number four with Sally Forcier and that's exciting, but that's a boatload of work! LOL! I'm just going with this visual today, hopefully, these difficulties will pass soon.

Dave's Retirement Party

We celebrated with friends with a party that ranks in the top 3 of our lives, right up there with our wedding day. We had friends who we knew were coming that we had not seen in years and we had a few surprise us as well. I'm going to post some of their posts from social media to share the night here.
